School transportation funding for 2011-12 was cut 50% ($248 million state wide) effective January 1, 2012. In response, Mid-Placer streamlined High School routes and increased non-transportation zones from 2 miles to 2.5 miles around schools.

Govenor Brown has proposed a budget that eliminates school transportation funding for 2012-13. More information here.
